Founded in Omaha, Nebraska in 2015, de la Torre Art Design has made its mark on numerous projects in several states. Most recently, de la Torre Art Design was contracted by the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere to help create its award-winning animal habitats and landscapes. In doing so, the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere’s ‘Expedition Peru: Trek of the Andean Bear’ received the Top Honors in Exhibit Design in 2019, awarded by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). In 2020, the Nashville Zoo’s ‘Sumatran Tiger Exhibit: Tiger Crossroads’ was awarded Top Honors in Exhibit Design by the AZA for the second year in a row, a feat which hadn’t been accomplished in the last 33 years. The award is the highest achievement for exhibit design given by AZA and is judged by 18 seasoned zoo and aquarium professionals on exhibit design.
